How to buy a DVD player?
So, you’ve just been bitten by the movie bug and are all set to buy your
first DVD player? Well, here’s a quick guide to help you buy the perfect DVD
player for yourself.
If your main consideration is picture quality, you need not buy a very
expensive DVD player. The picture quality of an expensive DVD player may be
slightly better than its cheaper counterpart, but the slight difference is
generally not worth the money, if picture and sound quality are your only
concerns.
DVD players today come with a lot features like surround sound, picture zoom,
digital theater system (which is considered superior to the Dolby surround
sound), disk changers, parental control settings, etc. The more the cost, the
better the features usually. Unless you are a gadget worshipper or own a home
theater system as well, a midline or entry level DVD player with digital theater
system, a fully functional remote controls and parental settings (if you have
children) would be good enough.
If you travel a lot, you may consider buying a portable DVD player.
Here’s a tip which may help you save some money. Most online and offline DVD
player stores may give you a good discount if you buy more that one product from
them. You may be wondering, "How does that help me?" Well, if you buy a DVD
player and blank DVDs from the store you are likely to get a discount on your
second purchase. Blank DVDs can be used to back up your movies as well as large
amount of other data.
